Pros
Uncapped money opportunites, but misleading from the get-go and interview process. Need to work over 50 hours per week to make "decent" money WHEN extra time is available. I came in beginning of the 4th quarter and didn't make any money really. The employees here think DISH is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and anyone with a brain can read between the lines here. Even HR acknowledges the interview process and what your told should be adjusted a bit, VERY misleading.
Cons
Everything about DISH is a con. 4 Day work week, and 10 hours on the phones when you can't make a mistake is a long day. Plus you need to work an extra day to get to 50+ hours. The tier system is a joke. They listen to 100% of your calls and 2 sales calls per week. If you make a mistake on a call, they put you on a Tier, which takes away the sale and cash away from you, and since it's a commission only position, they screw you any which way they can. There is a $400 safety net, so if you don't make $400 in commissions in a week, you automatically get the safety net. Living in the NY Metro area making $400 is an absolute scam. Everything DISH does is to benefit the company, and a demotivator for you the rep. There is no gray area at DISH, all black and white. Your lead doesn't fight anything for you, even though he says he does. Always excuses, and spoken as a matter of factly. I never hated going to a job more in my life than my 7 months at DISH. The "N" word is heard a million times a day on the sales floor and makes someone like myself feel uncomfortable because I have to bite my tongue when speaking sometimes. Very offensive to hear on a daily basis. Very unprofessional atmosphere, starting with the leads on down...They allow people to wear dress pants with their "Jordans" on, looks hideous. They say business casual, but people look like they just walked in off the streets here. There is zero room for advancement here because the leads have the cushiest position and would just don't leave. They do nothing all day and get paid for it. The benefits here blow. You need to spend $2500 out of pocket before the benefits kick in. The vacation time/holiday time suck. You get 120 hours per year for PTO, including sick time. I missed 5 days for 2 different sick occurences and then you get spoken to by the big boss, and then belittles you when he's going to give you a warning, and asks if you went to the doctor and insults your intelligence. Laughable. The whole job is laughable. DISH is a scam.
