Pros

A global firm with some good quality employees.

Cons

Highly unethical owners. The Hoffmann family that own DHR International are corrupt. The rule of law that they so despise will hopefully eventually catch up with them. If you are considering joining this firm or hiring them as a client, please do your due diligence. For example, see "unofficial-dhr-international.blogspot.com" or any other numerous news reports on them from around the world. I made the career mistake of joining the firm and it cost me > 60% of my annual wages when I was terminated without cause and left unpaid contractually owed renuneration and entitlements. I hope the lesson of my loss can be of some benefit to others. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Pros

DHR has built a great culture that projects its Midwest values on a global scale; employees celebrate the collective success of the organization. It's a great environment for young professionals and post-grads looking to launch a career in executive search. You'll receive exposure to a lot of different industries and work with some impressive search partners (albeit most are past the pinnacle of their careers).

Cons

DHR provides great foundational experience for post-grads looking to break into executive search. However, due to below-market compensation and limited financial incentives to retain top performers, it's a churn-and-burn environment among the research population but leadership is ok with that - it's become the model under the family office.
