Good pay, nice benefits, but long hours. - Driver/Courier DHL Express Employee Review

Pros

The benefits are quite good. The stations in the Bay area are Union so the pay is higher than non Union stations. There are a lot of opportunities to increase your salary by working holidays and overtime. And there's a decent pension when you retire.

Cons

Most drivers average 60 hrs a week. If you add Bay area traffic, it's hard to have a life outside of work. Good supervisors tend to leave and the bad ones stay forever.

Pros

Great compensation, benefits, and hours. Get to know many clients and businesses on route. Lots of exercise. Lots of alone time.

Cons

For some, the alone time can be very lonely. You are in a van or truck for many hours. Podcasts, radio, hands-free: get to love it. Sometimes logistics can be unpredictable. Delays, traffic, on-call pickups. You have to be very flexible and adaptive with fairly quick critical thinking skills to excel at this job.

Pros

Get entry level sales position. The company has great benefits..

Cons

You will be calling 80-100 times per day for months until you get promoted but it’s a fairly easy job. Can just be boring.
