Pros
You're expected to wear many hats in this role, which offers invaluable experience in all stages of the marketing lifecycle and within agency life in general. There are a number of great people at the agency - they work hard, play harder. Agency hosts a number of fun events to keep things interesting and offers some small (but nice) perks along the way. Benefits are decent too (when I was there, basic medical/dental were offered free of premiums). Internships offer great exposure and are a great foot in the door here.
Cons
I usually felt unsupported and overworked, although I think this was in direct relation to the people I was reporting to at the time. Although HR was able to provide wonderful support at an individual level, they were ineffective at protecting employees from some rather nasty players within the office. At the coordinator level, I was working incredibly hard but never felt like anyone was taking advantage of my brainpower. Ultimately, the long hours and stressful environment just weren't worth it.
