Pros
-Remote
-Some great people who believe in the work they do
-Interesting work
Cons
-DCG was the most toxic work environment I have ever experienced. The abuse was immediate and came in the form of being directly told I should expect to work long hours regularly (without overtime pay) and went as far as senior and executive leadership openly discussing my military service-connected disability (that I was not in) in a Teams chat that was then accidentally shared during a call with several employees.
-There were definitely shady business practices going on and this opinion is widely held. I personally witnessed a DCG employee discuss how she was also completing work for the co-founders scammy eyelash business.
-When I was there, I was shocked by the lack of basic, clearly defined research standards. The VP of research had zero knowledge around industry standard data analysis tools such as Dedoose, Qualtrics, R, SPSS, etc. and it was therefore always unclear how research was really being conducted in any rigorous, meaningful manner. Sometimes people outside of research with no professional or relevant qualifications were given too much say on serious topics they had really no business working on.
-Pay was below industry standard, benefits were nothing special
