Pros
Free lunch after our monthly meeting Nice office and central location
Cons
No advancement opportunities No raises except for executives, which gives you little incentive to work hard. It's also infuriating to know the highest paid are the only people the company apparently values. Poor managers in some departments: I had two decent managers and three completely incompetent ones. I was doing their job and could not take a day off due to their lack of confidence in their ability to perform their job without me there. I tried to address issues about this to HR. I was essentially told the only solution is to look for another job. My incompetent former manager is still working there in case you're looking to be subservient to someone you're probably much sharper than. Senior management in several departments are aware some of their employees are careless, negligent, and constantly make mistakes others have to correct. They keep them around out of pity. Charity is a good thing except that it's hurting the company as a whole. People like to shuffle problems from department to department until it's so convoluted you can't tell who actually "dropped the ball."
