Pros
Office Location. Socializing/Party Culture. Some Interest in Social Impact. Some may perceive it as an upside or "fun," but the company frequently organizes parties at the office, dinners, and other social events heavily surrounded by drinking and partying. If you're not inclined towards participating in such activities, you may find it challenging to assimilate. From experience, this will likely negatively impact how you're viewed by the senior leadership team and will be perceived as disinterest.
Cons
To provide some background context, the team comprises five senior partners and a relatively small supporting staff, all of whom have been with the company since the start. It's worth noting that these individuals are young and have limited previous experience in the workforce or the agency industry before joining or founding this company. While this can be advantageous in certain situations, I often observed that their lack of experience was noticeable in the majority of circumstances. As a newcomer here, your opportunities for growth within this organization are notably limited/non-existent, despite promises or mentions suggesting otherwise. Additionally, if you are in the early stages of your career and are seeking guidance and mentorship, despite what they say, you will not receive it here. From a team environment perspective, collaboration and teamwork are virtually, again, non-existent across the company, and I often found that the management team relies on improvisation rather than cohesive and calculated planning. Furthermore, the work environment here operates on a last-minute basis (like most agencies), often requiring employees to handle tasks and responsibilities even if they haven't been adequately prepared or equipped from the beginning. There is a prevalent "just fix it" mentality when it comes to addressing issues within the organization, where no one truly takes ownership of problems. Furthermore, many individuals tend to dismiss their responsibility by claiming, "I'm too senior to fix this." In conclusion, the agency is engulfed in an unparalleled atmosphere of gossip, toxicity, and negativity. Unprofessional conversations and incessant chatter are pervasive elements within this environment. The above lightly touches the surface of what occurs here, and if you're considering joining this team, I highly recommend searching elsewhere.
