Pros

Clean, large break-room, breaks and lunch as scheduled. state of the art "dialing" system

Cons

In order to earn above minimum wage a "marketer has to average 5 "enrollments" (sales) per day. If you succeeded in getting 24 enrollments for the week you got a $120. Bonus. This is compensation equal to $5.00 per sale. In the event you fell short of 24 sales, (say 22) you got Nothing! The worst part is in every sale I made my "client" was talked into paying more than their current rate, A LOT More! 30%!! This is done with the justification of offering "price protection". Because you needed the account # and meter # from their bill, they would have to get it. You are encouraged to NOT show them where to look to see what they are currently paying! In sales you are supposed to feel good about making a sale... I never did, bottom line I wouldn't sell this product to my mother or my daughter. All of my successful "closes" were senior citizens (70's 80's and higher) Every call recorded and critiqued on an almost daily, even hourly basis. Habitual "retraining" in groups of six is demeaning and childish. While "retraining" you are not on the floor to meet your goal. It appears that most employees, management included are "Scared" of their jobs. If you consider yourself a "professional saleperson" you should look elsewhere.

Pros

The good things about this job was that we had really good training. It might be the best I've ever had for a phone/sales job. It was very involved and had steps. It was in a decent location. You could take the bus if you needed to. I think all of the employees tried to do the best that they could do with what they had to work with. Overall it was a friendly environment.

Cons

I didn't like how the corporate management treated people. They lied often and misrepresented. The pay was low unless you where willing to push people into gas plans that where higher than what they where already paying.
