Pros

The individual baseline contributors are kind and making a genuine effort.

Cons

Poor engineering leadership, especially the director. The director lacked engineering skills, clear direction and leadership. Also laid off engineer on January 1 without severance, which badly hurt reputation and morale.

Pros

Benefit package is decent compared to other non-profits

Cons

In my personal experience, the company’s operations felt more aligned with a technology focused business than a clinical care provider, which at times created tension between operational priorities and clinical considerations. When I raised concerns about flag caseloads and clinical practices, I did not feel those concerns were meaningfully addressed, and I personally experienced a decrease in support afterward. Others may have different experiences, but this was mine. I would encourage prospective employees or stakeholders to review publicly available materials about CTL in years past, including past reports and employee feedback, to form their own conclusions before getting involved. Regarding my departure, I was presented with legal agreements that I was not comfortable signing, as I felt they limited my ability to speak openly about my experience. I also experienced challenges during the poste employment process, including delays related to unemployment benefits, though I recognize that multiple parties and external factors can affect that process. Overall, I had concerns about whether the platform consistently meets the needs of both staff and the texters it serves. In my opinion, there are areas where greater transparency, support, and alignment with clinical best practices would be beneficial. Prospective employees who prioritize clear communication and organizational transparency may want to ask detailed questions during the interview process to determine if the environment aligns with their expectations.
