Pros
Remote working, 9am-5pm working hours
Cons
- Lack of direction
- Egotistical management that want results but don't want to do the work for it
- No internal communications channel aside (Not slack, nada)
- No internal workflow methodology (A trello board with tasks that just have a title and no description does not constitute as one)
- Aggressive micromanagement (An absolute disbenefit to all as it emphases the lack of culture and critical thinking from management)
- They expect prompt communication responses during an outdated communication channel, but do not respond in a promptly manner and alot of times, not at all)
- Management tends to act emotionally rather then critically
- The technical director offered to pay me via PayPal to avoid taxes (as some sort of incentive for them to pay me less then the daily rate I stated)
- Hung up during a call because he didn't like the answer I gave (I stated it couldn't achieved in the desired timeframe)
- The technical director has no background knowledge of actual programming nor how Shopify themes work. I don't think he'd pass the basic Shopify fundamentals certification).
- A very 'ask no questions' environment, where you're expected to just know what they're trying to explain (despite the lack of context and the fact they're unable to articulate it in a non-technical nor technical manner)
- No culture nor values employed by the company
- Fired another existing developer to hire me, then had the audacity to re-hire him and fire me again (I hope he has some pride and doesn't bite the bullet)
- Was told that the previous developer wasn't experienced enough and didn't do things right (which I was skeptical of as management doesn't know how Shopify works aside from the admin panel)
