Pros
Project processes are clearly documented, the leadership expects the team to take ownership to provide updates when process changes are warranted. Leadership cares about people as individuals. When possible, PMO management gives new PMs time to learn processes, meet people, and learn the culture before starting their first project. Company transitioned from all in person before Covid-19, to mostly remote now. I found onboarding to go pretty smoothly working remote. Company boasts a listening culture and backs this up by showing what they are doing to address employee concerns.
Cons
So many new employees, projects are impacted by lack of knowledge of processes and technology, especially cross system knowledge. Very large project teams for the size of the company. I am currently managing one with 90 people identified as needing to be involved or informed in some way. The company is going through an agile transition but each IT team is doing it differently. This creates some process conflict and dissatisfaction with project processes.
