Pros
You have a small staff which means you become more of a family. Also, you have repeat customer that become part of that family. The clothes are cute and the kids are fun.
Cons
Very few payroll hours. This means working alone a lot, but what really hurts with that is your ability to take care of the business. Not only does it mean that you can not spend enough one on one time with your customers, it also means that the store itself doesn't get the kind of attention that it requires. There is a lot of work that has to be done to keep the store up to the "neat, clean, and tidy" beautiful store standards, where your folds are perfect and everything is sized, full, and easy to shop. That is nearly impossible on days where it is busy given that you only get the hours that you are open plus about 8. That means that for the 11 or 12 hours you are open, someone is alone for 4 to 5 out of the day. That isn't so bad on days where it is slow, but it there is any business at all, it makes your customer service sub-par. This company is very demanding. There are so many tasks that need to be done, both daily and weekly that it is often overwhelming. You have observations on your management teams, paperwork, your divided responsibility list (which falls mostly on the store manager even though it is supposed to be shared), along with a monthly refresh and then new lines and replenishment (again not enough hours for, you get 3 hours for each 500 items you receive, for sorting taking out of each individually wrapped bag, hanging and getting to the floor). There are so many shoplifters that see the stores as easy marks due to all the tasking and the lack of coverage.
