Cowan was a wonderful opportunity to learn exactly how a business shouldn’t be run. Work here long enough and/or you are related to someone in the family? VP title for you! Actual talent, innovation of any sort or wanting to do something different have no place here, and it’s a shame because Cowan had the opportunity to do things better, but they opted for nepotism instead. Those who do get promoted greatly lack the skills to do their actual job, and it’s not uncommon for them to verbally abuse employees they don’t like or bully them into quitting.
