Pros
Get a free meal on shift if you’re lucky The people that actually work on site are lovely.
Cons
Too much corporate interference. Will have your hours cut randomly with no notice or apology. Treated like a stupid person by ops management. Made to undergo “hospitality training” which was basically listening to a weird motivational speaker for hours. Ugly uncomfortable uniform. Didn’t get us fans until the temperature in the building was well over 30 degrees. Lucky if you get a break, typically need to prompt management to give you one. Extremely short staffed nearly every shift. If you are a bartender they will make you a server as well, you will have shifts where you’re not even making drinks? Constantly told that the business has problems isn’t making enough money etc and it’s your personal responsibility to increase your spend per head while being paid minimum wage? Constantly told to upsell people and basically have to follow a script when serving people which is really wooden and odd. Have witnessed multiple staff being abused or threatened by customers and instead of defending you management will just tell you to serve them regardless. Racist and homophobic upper management. General decline in the way staff are treated since I started.
