As a manager you will find out employees of yours make more money than you for less responsibility. Little opportunity to move up. No opportunity to renegotiate. Head office will advise you to cut hours of your employees at the drop of a pin. Managers typically make a bonus depending on the store’s success over and above quotas. Managers take lower pay in exchange for the quarterly bonuses that come if your store exceeds quotas. Headoffice often would increase the quotas half way through the month when your store was on a good trajectory. Never made a single bonus in my time there, and when covid began, bonuses and quotas were taken away entirely.
