Pros

The renewable energy market is a flourishing market to work in. Driving businesses to implement renewable energy is rewarding. The culture is actively changing with the implementation of new people into the business, however, the flexibility is great and the office is spectacular.

Cons

With Convergent growing rapidly, there are a lot of changes within the business. There are growing pains when it comes to employees career trajectory plans. The new people team is working on including a more formalized corporate structure. Hoping this is only a temporary setback once Convergent grows to its desired size.

Pros

Straight forward expectations for quota. Easy enough job. Not rocket science in this position, as long as you study (on your own time). Great for sales-hunter experience for the short term. Path to promotion is essentially guaranteed as long as you hit your quota. Generous reimbursement policy (including 50% of phone bill, all travel expenses, meal allowances). OK starter sales job, leave once you gain enough confidence and experience.

Cons

Not clear processes or procedures. Management will tell you one thing then backtrack. Cut-throat, don't expect any courtesy for your time, use that PTO. While the path to promotion is clear, you may be put in a market that is completely tapped or shared with another rep, and if you do not perform against today's political climate against energy initiatives, the chopping block will be your next stop. You will have to live by a script and sales training they give you, not recommended to be original in your outreach. Travel is mandatory for remote employees (situational con). You are heavily advised to only target C-suite, VP level, Directors, and any within that spectrum, if you aren't comfortable putting yourself on the same level as individuals in those positions, would not recommend applying. Low call conversion rates based on the minimum the company expects you to outbound (which for your first year, will look like double if not triple your outbound to succeed).
