Pros
Personally, the benefits were good. But compared to other companies, it could be better. 401k 50% match up to 8%. PPO out of pocket was only $15 per person per pay check. Dental (DPO or HMO). VSP. Good training program. Finance of this company is heavily dependent on Boeing. (This could be Pros or Cons.)
Flexible schedule (5x8, 9-80, or 4x10) 4x10 you can choose any day of the week to be your off day.
Good company if you are not looking for carrer growth. Get in, do your 8, 9, or 10 hrs, and go home.
Cons
Lack of communication between management and "production/workers".
Management says that they want the workers to have multiple skills (cross trained with other dept.) But if the worker is being proactive and apply to other department, he/she is seen as not loyal.
There's no upward growth.
Seniority = favorites. I worked 5 years and I was still considered "new". Some people have worked 10, 20, and even 30 years here.
Production matrix is heavily flawed, there's no distinction between level of difficulties of the job. If you're stuck with difficult jobs, your productivity will be low. Management only sees the number. They assume that over a period of time you get difficult and easy jobs, so they just take the average.
