It feels like working in an emperor's court. Most employees spend their time trying to curry favor with higher ups (who eat this up!). Success has very little to do with talent or ability, and rather one's ability to find a powerful clique to belong to. Senior management is more focused on managing perceptions than actually addressing issues. You can never recover if you actually speak your mind at this company - you will be permanently blackballed. Constant restructuring programs put people on edge and contribute to a dog eat dog environment. HR generalists roam around with no actual responsibilities and seem to have unchecked power to make or break people based on whatever random reason.
