Pros

Decent starting pay Decent benefits

Cons

Older management makes the working at CONNDOT unbearable. Will not adjust to modern times, work can be done fully remote but choose to make in person multiple times a week without respecting the Union contract. Can not use PTO in the first 6 months, if an emergency comes up good luck If you use sick time it goes down as a "penalty". If you get 3-4 "penalties" your service rating goes down which is completely unfair. Expected to tough it out if sick. There is a lack of working level engineers, so if you are new you will be stuck with a lot of work with short deadlines, as well as no one to train you. If you want more pay, you'll have to take on a supervisor position which is a lot more work. Yearly increases don't match inflation, and moving to another company will make you more money. Every minute you work needs to be accounted for, watched if you are late back from lunch or break. Sitting in cubicles all but 1 hour of the day (30 min lunch, 15 minute breaks) 8.5 hour shifts because lunch is not paid.
