Pros

Self-management no micro-management. Flexible hours and lots of opportunities for overtime and additional pay. Hooked in to every major hardware and software company for ease of certification and extended education.

Cons

Disorganized structure can lead to headaches. I miss having coworkers often. Too much email.

Pros

Management is very nice, contract client was good

Cons

low pay, benefits expensive and not very good. PTO was low. Benefits included paid holidays but my contract was at a university and a lot of holidays did not count, including Juneteenth and Martin Luther King day. Also had to use PTO during winter break, which ate up most of my PTO every year.
