Pros
I think if you're a college kid or don't really have any skill but enjoy making movies, this could be a good occasional gig.
Cons
The branch in Durham was just disgusting. They had no equipment for video and refused to pay full price for rental even when I cut them a huge deal on my equipment. The owner who came in from Omaha (I think) had zero understanding of video and was very condescending.
The worst part is it was completely fly by the seat of your pants, no organization. I did two jobs with them (and of course they use the ''this will lead to more work'' scam, which I wasn't buying, but I had nothing better to do those days)
The third job, the owner/manager of the Durham branch was the DJ and we drove together to a gig, on the drive back he chose to drink beer while driving and I said that is absolutely not tolerable and not to ever call me again. He cussed me out for the rest of the hour drive, but he never did call me again, though there was a stand off because I refused to give him the footage until I was paid first, I just didn't trust that guy.
