Pros

When I first started at Compass, it was a bustling, exciting, and growing company. I was thrilled when I received that offer. I’ve worked in many places and I can say matter of factly that it was the culture that drew me to Compass in the first place. It was the people that made Compass great. It was people that worked together to create the amazing science. I am so grateful to have made connections to so many talented, passionate, and enthusiastic scientists. Their dedication to Compass’ mission to cure cancer inspired me endlessly. The people are still who make Compass what it is. The science is there. I have faith in the quality of work we are doing and the work that has been left behind.

Cons

In a sea of Biotech companies, I thought Compass could have been a beacon that others would compare themselves to. I no longer believe that. I talk in the past tense because with one swift mouse click, upper management completely shattered the trust and respect of all it’s employees. The complete disregard and unprofessionalism in the choices the management made and continues to make astounds me. They have destroyed the spirit of Compass. The company no longer advocates for their employees. It claims to invest in the professional growth and development of its employees but their actions speak otherwise. What was once routine and simple is now wrapped in layers of red tape. Recognition for achievements are delayed or forgotten. Compensation is almost laughable compared to industry averages. You are no longer considered a person, let alone a scientist. You are viewed as a function and if you are no longer useful, you are or will be discarded.

Pros

Working at Compass Therapeutics has been an incredibly positive experience. It’s a highly collaborative environment with truly strong science at its core. What stands out most is the lack of politics—people are focused on solving problems together, not hierarchy or turf. The team is deeply engaged, supportive, and genuinely dedicated to the mission. Leadership and employees alike keep patients front and center in every decision. On top of that, the culture is reinforced by thoughtful perks like daily lunches, breakfasts, and a workplace that clearly values its people. It’s a mission-driven company where great science and great culture actually coexist.

Cons

4 days in office seems a bit of stretch

Pros

Employees and leaders are very welcoming, interview process was thoughtful and well organized. Onboarding was great and geared towards integration and belonging. Compass has a team and community with the knowledge and execution to achieve together as a unit and have a lot of fun while doing it.

Cons

None - any flourishing biotech may mean working towards goals that do not fit neatly into a 40 hour workweek every-week. The work is meaningful well thought out and appreciated -all with a great culture.
