The owner. He has a "big fish/small pond" mentality. The owner wields power like a drunken dictator. He steals other people's ideas and passes them off as his own and demands to be called a visionary. He demands things of people then once they perform and give it to him, he just ignores it. "Hurry up and get me this now....so I can put it in the horder's pile that is my office and never ever look at it."
This was seriously one of those jobs that when I talk about it, people don't believe me. Here's some examples:
+Owner wanted to close the office between Christmas and New Year's. Sounds cool, right? Wrong! He wanted to force the employees to use their vacation days during that time. They revolted big time.
+Owner once a told a female employee who asked for a raise after over 3 years of being there that she didn't need a raise because "her husband makes a good living."
+During the interview process, a potential candidate was asked what church he went to!
+Owner often hires people based on the family they're in or who they know rather than how well they can actually perform their jobs. This blew up in the owner's face often, yet he NEVER takes responsibility for them.
+Owner totally takes advantage of people in the area with awesome skills who are desperate for work and who have ended up in this godforsaken "paradise."
+Owner has the attitude of "you're lucky to have a job" and all but says it to the employees.
I honestly don't know how Compass is still in business. For all intents and purposes it shouldn't be. Strictly still in business based on "old boy" connections.
Also, how serious can you take a marketing company based in the remote hell that is Gulf Shores, Alabama?
