Pros
- Flexible scheduling - Laptop and headset provided - Some brands offer discounts for Compass employees
Cons
Over the past year Compass has consistently increased revenue while making the day to day lives of regular employees more frustrating. In the fall of 2020 as a new CEO stepped in it was announced that the company had doubled revenue from pre-pandemic levels, and starting pay would be increased by a dollar. However, raises would now only be available if you were promoted into a new position and would not be available based on performance or time with the company. With hundreds of employees across a couple dozen brands, new opportunities are scarce and competitive so new employees should likely expect to stay at starting pay for their time with Compass. A healthcare plan, while not exceptional, was announced however there are no other perks like performance bonuses, meal vouchers, or internet stipends that similar companies offer. Many of the pre-pandemic leadership team has left and outside hires replaced them, meaning that management is by and large out of touch with the employees they oversee. Overall Compass is an ok short term or first job, but other local companies will pay and respect you more to do the same work.
