Pros
The ability to serve an underserved community in a wealthy county in California. Decent (not great) benefits.
Cons
This agency claims to stand for equity, inclusivity diversity and kindness. The management rules with autocracy, fear and cruelty. The CEO encourages a mistrustful back biting work place culture. Everyone is afraid at all times. The turnover is incredibly high at all levels of the agency, from the highest of senior executives all the way down to the people on the ground. I had to spend almost a year in therapy to deal with the trauma of the abuse. Which is ironic because she makes a lot of calling CAM a trauma informed workplace. Every thing is to make her look good, but she doesn't understand that by constantly cutting everyone around her down, she makes herself look worse. She is cold, unapproachable and everyone is terrified of her, which is how she wants it to be. The Board of Directors knows all this. If they don't, they should because there have been a lot of employee satisfaction surveys that are supposedly anonymous and confidential. HR is a joke. They supposedly have a whistleblowing policy and no retribution. It is a lie. If you complain about abusive treatment, they go for you hard, and turn around and accuse you of the thing that you complained about. Gaslighting on a spectacular scale. Have spoken to many other former employees who are terrified and traumatized.
