Pros

They pay you money, that is about it.

Cons

Was hired to work on a 4 person team. It was a critical department to the organization in a fairly new position. The department head was charming and helpful at first, then immediately turned. He used derogatory and harassing terms. Put down work and the individual- citing they "cannot teach" someone, and using words like "disappointing" in regards to work and the person, and allowed to continue verbal asbuse. This was all in the first few months of being new to a position The disorganization and inter-fighting between departments is intense. Everyone talks behind the backs of others and do not trust one another. Executive management team has no handle on the day-to-day operations of the company, does not check in on the staff and overall not supported. HR is weak. They absolutely do not care about the employee's well being and safety with management. Filing a complaint will only flag you as a "disrupted" and lead to you being fired. They allow individuals in powerful positions to keep their jobs while lower level, entry level positions cycle through. Several complaints can be lodged, and still nothing is done. There is no system in place here for the culture and the staff to be happy and safe. Staff members are constantly stressed and unhappy.

Community Access Response

I'm sorry this person had such a bad experience here. If his or her supervisor had truly acted in the way described above they would no longer be employed here. As I stated below, we have an Open Door policy that encourages employees to report issues to anyone they feel comfortable communicating with. To reinforce this, I meet all new employees during orientation and give them my card with a pledge that we will respond to ideas, suggestions, or complaints they have. I would only ask any prospective employee to do their due diligence. Find people who work here and schedule a visit, sign up for our newsletters and mailings, follow our activities on social media. Feel free to write me directly and ask any question you like: scoe@communityaccess.org. Best, Steve Coe CEO
