Pros
Pros: free lunches and coffee. Cool coworker and customers.
Cons
I worked closely with the Owner & Director of Operations at Communal. The management is awful. The bank account & routing info was given to me as a phone contact to my personal cell which was weird. They were hyping up an accountant who they ended up firing after 1 month. During my short time employed, I found a 41k invoice they were not aware of, a 26k invoice for overhead they had been paying for a couple years, an overdue audit marked unproductive, among other invoices from years prior that hadn’t been paid. After bringing this to the attention of upper management, I was fired the next business day without any warning. Their store “Haven” wasn’t bringing in much income since it didn’t serve coffee yet & they were also working on a new store to be located under an apartment complex. Yet, their finances, spread between two LLCs & the owner’s personal account, had lower amounts than expected to support this & overhead. Even the Director of Operations sat me down in the beginning to explain that the owner tends to be impulsive & think we can do any idea that interests her. This results in spread out projects, higher cost, & an urgency & disregard for their employees. This company is not well managed & they do not care about their employees unfortunately. The finances do not add up & either they are bad with money or some sort of embezzlement/fraud is occurring.
