Pros

Honestly, for junior staff this might give you a really good perception of what a bad working experience you will have as part of your career. I don't have a lot of good things to say. Staff eventually realise they are all in the same sinking boat and you get some good friends for life.

Cons

Favouritism to some ... no appreciation for the real talent of others. Insane long hours, Lack of resources, Lacking staff, No transparency, Dubious KPI choices from top management, No time for training, Countless wasted hours with 'Leadership Panels' Wasted hours in long monthly meetings, Terrible compensation, No Perks, No Bonuses, Unless the top management accepts you in their inner circle, you might have some chances of getting "appointed" for a promotion. Try to join the club and you might raise your chances.

Pros

If you are an intern who wants to try out working in digital, Columbus is a good place to start out for a few months to learn the ropes and get certified.

Cons

Zero transparency in governance, company in Malaysia is so untrustworthy and exploitative (pays staff 20% below industry average). The company is populated by staff with very little knowledge of what they are supposed to do. The company doesnt offer any value to its clients- it has a very hygiene and tactical mindset.

Pros

The people are what make this place! They have so much personality and we all genuinely get along and want to hang out outside of work. Columbus is a place where if you work hard and genuinely put care and attention into your work, you will be rewarded. COL won't hand you progression on a silver platter but they definitely look after those that perform well. They have the usual benefits such as free food/drinks, fitness classes etc but the flexible working hours/ability to work from home and extra leave (5 weeks annual leave after 2 years of service and 7 extra half days each year) is a real bonus. We get to work on blue chip clients and have a real impact on their business results. This is my first experience working in an agency and after hearing a few horror stories from friends at other agencies, i was definitely skeptical. I can now say those preconceptions are not relevant to Columbus, with every business there are growing pains and ups and downs but the exec and leadership team really try to make this an enjoyable place to work every day.

Cons

Just like every place of work, there are good and bad days. Sometimes there are periods were things are really busy and we're down a team member but like I said the people are what get you through those tougher times. It's a growing business and there have been some teething problems but if you're realistic about the business world and understand it's a normality you'll be fine.
