      Pros

      The service to community and the camaraderie are great. The nature of the job allows for a ton of life experience.

      Cons

      Administration is more concerned with their own agendas and answering to the county admin. rather than look after their men and women serving the county. This lowers morale and at times (due to decision making) leaves stations and areas with a bare minimum of coverage--which puts more stress on the firemen and in the event of a serious, major call- response time suffers.

      Pros

      Columbia County Fire Rescue is well respected in the community and in the surrounding areas. Also, the department strives to be a top-tier fire department, always pursuing excellence.

      Cons

      Some stations are very busy, while some are very slow. This can be either a pro or con, depending on how you look at it.
