If you are considering joining the engineering team, I would strongly caution against it. While the Bangkok office location may seem attractive, the overall culture felt toxic and unsustainable. Teams were routinely overworked, expected to respond on weekends (despite messaging to the contrary), and in multiple instances asked to begin work before all required work-permit authorisations were finalised, which, based on my understanding, does not align with Thai work-authorisation requirements. Late-night work and artificial pressure were common, creating an unhealthy environment.
Recent organisational changes emphasised tight control and micromanagement, fostering a culture of fear and inadequacy rather than growth and inclusion. Support for professional development was limited, and the workplace atmosphere was rarely collaborative or positive.
On the technical side, the payments tech stack is severely outdated, the codebase is riddled with technical debt, and testing practices are almost nonexistent. This results in instability and frustration for engineers.
Overall, this is not a place that values people or sound engineering practices. I would not recommend joining.
