Pros

Some very talented, skilled and experienced people are employed at CloudTalk and it's always great to work with them and learn new things. Some of the benefits are nice.

Cons

- Questionable company culture. CT acts like there are great relations between everyone during interviews, but the truth is, the relations are often pretty bad, lots of pointless drama, lots of distrust between individual people and teams, etc. Not necessarily the fault of the employees though, but a result of a change from a startup into more corporation-styled company that didn't quite work out in my opinion. - Very little to no communication between the leadership and employees regarding crucial topics such as goals, current status, etc., and the information provided tends to change rapidly.
 - Some departments exist in a bubble, isolated from the rest of the company and the clients, leads to decisions and changes that anger clients and result in them leaving. There were multiple instances of some departments repeatedly making the same mistakes, making plans to change the workflow, then failing to do so, and again making the same mistakes, basically going around in circles.

- Responsibilities of several departments are still fairly unclear and the requests for clarification are often met with a shrug as a response.

 - Lack of direction. As mentioned, the little information provided by leadership tends to change randomly and quickly. The same applies to a lot of the decisions made. Feels like someone is just flailing around in the dark, not knowing what to do. Same goes for the product, which is still largely just a bunch of random ideas put together with glue and prayers and not very stable as a result.

 - Getting access to tools you are supposed to use generally takes weeks, but often times months. Sometimes, you can lose this access with no warning or explanation and have to go through the whole waiting process again. As an example, I lost access to one tool in spring 2022, no explanation, nobody admitted to deleting my access, etc. It took more than 6 months for me to get it back, while sending repeated reminders to the people involved.

 - Internal documentation and trainings are often very limited. Although this has improved somewhat in the last couple months, there’s still a lot of information missing from the internal docs or they are unfinished. Trainings are also often very limited in scope, and they also tend to happen with a delay (or not at all) when significant changes are made and re-training should be done.

Pros

For me, working from home isn’t just an appealing prospect — it’s a reality. You don't have to come into the office at all if you don't want to, and nobody will force you to. Everything is built on trust: what matters are the results, not how many hours you spend sitting at your desk. When you do decide to come in and socialise, you'll find the environment amazing. The Sky Park offices are in an excellent location with great accessibility, and the office itself is modern, inspiring and well equipped. If you need to concentrate or focus, you can book a meeting room in which to work. (If the office is too noisy at that time.) People are on the same wavelength here, the atmosphere is great, and we enjoy grabbing coffee together. Management is extremely approachable, and the 'open-door policy' really works here. You can talk openly and personally with management about anything at any time. I genuinely enjoy the product we’re working on — it’s constantly evolving, and I can see real results. The company is also growing dynamically, and this growth brings opportunities for employees. If you're driven and receive the necessary support, you'll definitely find opportunities for career advancement here.

Cons

To be honest, I can’t think of anything significant to criticise about the company at the moment. Of course, rapid growth sometimes necessitates minor changes to processes, but these are openly and constructively addressed as they arise. I’m completely satisfied here at the moment.
