Pros

CloudLock is a one of a kind. Having worked at a large company for years I decided I wanted to give a startup a try. My first one was terrible, I learned very quickly what it means to work for a bad start up (and hate your job). Fortunately someone at CloudLock came across my resume and after a very extensive interview process I joined the (relatively small) team at the time. Sure I'm biased, but I would argue CloudLock is the best startup/company out there. The co-founders are a rare breed of talented/motivated/ humble/agile/visionary executives. The culture they have created around them inspires everyone to do their best and encourages employees to bring their own entrepreneurial skills and apply them. Every company says they only hire "A" talent, but I can honestly there is no "dead weight". I'm blown away on a daily basis by the teams accomplishments. Being a CloudLocker means working with the best of the best, regardless of the job title/expertise. Collaboration across teams/departments is seamless and easy. Everyone wants to win and will do whatever it takes, from the entry level employee to the CEO. You will be inspired to make your mark while truly redefining the Cyber Security space, and more importantly, what a great company can be. Something I don't see mentioned is how veteran friendly the company is. With some companies it feels like more of a lip service, not the case here. All three of the co-founders are vets, two of them literally first met in a foxhole. They value military experience and are the type of guys you want to go to battle with. CloudLock is destined for greatness and I am proud to be a CloudLocker.

Cons

Honestly, nothing comes to mind. I might have said the 401k isn't great but they made some investment in this area recently. There still isn't matching but at this point I'd rather the company invest that money back into the company so our equity is worth more. By the way, If you are concerned that all these 5 star ratings might be fake, I'd challenge you to reach out to a CloudLocker on LinkedIn. I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone that doesn't love this company.

CloudLock is very Veteran friendly indeed. We honor and are thankful to our vets and to their families that make everything we do possible. For those of us who served, we know that the only limitation an individual has, is his or her perception of what they are capable of. We're trying to create the environment where people can engage in endless self and team improvement challenges, that will result in an an entire company improvement. We promise it won't be easy, but it will be very rewarding. Thank you for the excellent endorsement and for being part of our ongoing effort to improve and never rest in that endeavor. Early CloudLockers are our first founding team and we are constantly reviewing their total package to make sure we stay competitive and the best place for them to continue to grow.

Pros

Cloudlock is a very friendly place: people take the time to get to know you as a person, not just a "human resource". The company is like a family, and playing video games together or walking along the river kindles a very tight-knit culture.

Cons

There is an implicit pressure to work long hours: 60 and 70 hour weeks are the norm. Nobody wants to appear "lazy" by leaving the office at 5 PM, or by not responding to work emails while at home. The company culture rewards those who work harder, rather than those who work smarter. In addition, the software that runs Cloudlock is held together with band-aids and prayers. The management doesn't want to invest in quality software engineering practices, preferring to ship features as fast as possible. There's never time to write documentation or automated tests, and as a result, software stability goes out the window. The process of testing changes is a slow and painful one, which sucks the joy out of writing software. Oh, and training and mentoring? Hah. There's no time for that right now, we have to fix this critical problem on production!

Sorry to hear your experience was not a positive one at CloudLock. While we appreciate your acknowledging our company culture in a positive light, clearly you had some concerns regarding our engineering processes and expressed concerns over work/life balance issues. We are always striving to learn from current and former employee feedback, so we truly appreciate you taking the time to write a review. We are a fast growing start-up in a fast growing market, and do have a lot of people wearing a lot of different hats working on things that perhaps similar roles in larger companies do not. This does result in some long hours sometimes, but while we do work hard we have been hyper-conscious of work/life balance and continue to make great strides in balancing the two. Hyper-growth start ups are not for everyone - and while yes, we do have a lot of the fun "perks" we are also working really hard and passionately towards something great. Part of the learning process in this kind of environment is continuing to learn from feedback, mistakes and successes. Our engineering team has continued to make incredible leaps and bounds over the past two years, as evidence by both the incredible products they produce, the explosive customer adoption, and the team themselves. Thanks again for your feedback - as our journey continues your feedback and from other past and current CloudLock team members will be key in helping to drive our future. Gil
