Pros

Most co-workers are friendly and really do want to make a difference for the clients. This is especially true of the actual clinicians and peer support people.

Cons

I was hired over 8 years ago by CSO through a clubhouse program they operate. This position is a "supported employment" job, only available to clubhouse members. To join the clubhouse and get this type of job you have to have an official mental health diagnosis. Most of my co-workers (and, I thought, my supervisor) considered me a valued employee, and I have been told by several co-workers that they feel things will be worse without me because other people will not do my duties. I was recently fired from CSO under rather unpleasant circumstances. I will not get into many details due to various pending matters, but suffice it to say that this company is living up to its poor labor relations reputation (including retaliations), and also is NOT living up to its purpose of helping the mentally ill and treating us with dignity and respect. I feel betrayed and mistreated.
