Pros

One of the best things about working here is the small company feel. So there’s a sense of independence on an individual level, and things can get done quickly. The culture is very positive and it is conducive to being productive. The people here are good to work with and most are easy to get along with. You can talk to them, and they are open and friendly, which makes it a plus. When I started at Clear Spider over 10 years ago and until now, I learned a lot, especially on the technical side due to my role. I think anyone will learn a lot at this company because everyone here needs to be very good at their jobs. I enjoy the part of the job where I get to interact with customers and help them out. I also like that the job is multi-faceted. For my role, you need to be good at understanding customer needs, being technically competent, and then being good at communicating with software developers to get those problems solved. I am proud to be able to do what I can do to help our customers succeed.

Cons

While training for the sales and marketing teams is good, there needs to be a more standardized training program for other teams as well. This will maximize competence across all work-related areas, especially on the technical side.

Pros

Good work/life balance. The work is interesting and challenging. The company social events (harbourfront cruises, Niagara Falls dinners, Cirque du Soleil, go-karting, axe throwing, escape rooms, events downtown Toronto) are a fun plus. Great company culture and friendly, approachable colleagues to work with. I like the flexible hours and how we aren't micro-managed. We have opportunities to learn and develop our skills through workshops, etc. and I like the career growth and salary raises as we progress over time.

Cons

Since Clear Spider is a small organization in terms of number of employees, we all need to carry our weight and take on some extra responsibility when people are out of office or on vacation. This actually ends up working out to be a good thing, because you end up making a bigger impact and learn a lot more since you have the chance to take on other responsibilities.
