Pros
Startup! You have tons of opportunities, get some shares, and are a close team.
Amazing Product! There is nothing like it out there. We offer an experience to students and teachers that is culturally relevant and motivating.
New to the market, so tons of opportunity.
Great people! We have virtual game nights & social events & monthly challenges (fitness, cooking, arts) to win prizes. We usually have a company-wide Christmas party every year, but with COVID, we had it virtually, and they surprised us with care packages!
Constant roadmap/product updates specific to our customer needs/requests.
Cons
Start-up! You wear many hats. Honestly, it's not something I view as a con because I take pride in having a sense of ownership in my work and the company I'm at. But I've seen others that want one focused task, and startups are not the place for them.
We are educating the market. People think we are a game, and we are not. We constantly have to overcome preconceived notions regarding gaming mechanics and gaming in general.
I don't have many cons - but I feel a little biased because I wanted to work for a company like this (startup in ed-tech, with a motivation/engagement element). It's perfect for someone like me who wants their company to be filled with people they consider friends and a product that inspires them.
