      Horrible place to work - Ship Builder Claims Verification Employee Review

      Pros

      Flexibility with work hours, decent pay if you have a strong work ethic, and making industry contacts that will help you when you leave.

      Cons

      Management is utterly clueless and only care about the bottom line. CVI is the textbook definition of "penny wise and pound foolish" and upper management routinely makes very questionable financial decisions. Field employees recently had their salaries cut 20% or so and many people were let go or outright fired due to the ever present financial issues this PI firm seems to have. This could be a great place to work, but you would have to absolutely clean out the entire upper management team and start over so that the firm actually cares about the people that work there.

      Pros

      Provide some travel reimbursement. Not capped at 40 hours per week. Consistent with paying working lunches, overtime, etc. Can bill freely.

      Cons

      Inconsistent amount of assignments. At times work is very slow or too busy. Managers are look out for the company's bottom line and try to cut assignments right under you if another investigator will be in area so that they do not have to cut save money. Managers have a 24-hour rule on reports, regardless of due date, little consideration for personal/family life. They are a big BOTTOM LINE company. Little room for error. You need to be on managers good graces or you may see a deduction in case load, as they assign your cases.
