Pros
Everyone at the firm, from the staff and managers to the partners and directors, are happy to answer your questions. They truly hope that you learn from them and become excellent at the accounting profession. The compensation is above average as they are selective in who they hire. Everyday benefits that we may take for granted such as software updates, functioning computer equipment, office supplies, clean kitchen with coffee/tea, and IT technical support are abundantly available. Very organized in their distribution of work amongst the staff and allowed tax season to be manageable and less hectic compared to other firms.
Cons
Reviewers will catch any mistakes in your work and let you know about it. This is so that you learn and make fewer mistakes, as adhering to budgets of billable hours is very important to the firm. Work-life balance is only poor during tax season as you are expected to work long hours during those 4 months. They are very selective in who they hire, so be genuine, well-spoken, and knowledgeable during your interview.
