Pros
- Invaluable and exponential technical experience - Depends on the team, great companion - Salary good, compared with outside but the workload is immense - 20 vacation days vs ~14 outside - Multiple learning platforms (Coursera, Cisco U, Udemy, ImmersiveLabs) - Good compensation package, compared with the market - My hours are great, 6 AM to 2 PM and free afternoon
Cons
- At some point you stop growing, just laterally (G4, G6, G8) and all is based on CERTIFICATIONS...which basically is limited cause not everyone has the time and needs to sacrifice extra time - Workload does not compensate the salary, so is just for a time while you learn and have experience in real work arch and networking - We are the shadow of USA, so we are limited also on that - Need to handle stressful situations, technical and with customers - There is no such a thing as anual salary raises, just more work as reward
