Pros
There's nothing quite like feeling the effects of the impact we make with youth across the city. Over the last chapter of my career, I have had the great privilege to contribute to a mission I believe in wholeheartedly. The Team (both Full-Time and Part-Time employees) is a truly special group of people of a variety of backgrounds and identities, who absorb new members into their community with ease. There's never a dull moment at CircEsteem, which is exactly the kind of environment I thrive in. For many roles, no two work weeks are the same and it takes tenacious problem solvers to piece together puzzles to serve our constituency. During a period of continued growth, CircEsteem has opportunities at all levels from those wanting to learn how to teach Circus to young people, all the way to the Leadership team.
Cons
I understand that a fast paced environment isn't for everyone. Like most mid-sized non-profits, CircEsteem is limited by its technology. At this point in time, everything is done using a patchwork of online databases, Quickbooks, G-Suite and personal cell phones. This is not a place to work if you're simply wanting to be handed a playbook to follow: almost every role requires innovation and self starting.
