Pros
As a junior, the pipeline team was welcoming andvery nice with me. it's a good place to work and to improve your skills ; all the team mates have been helpful and professional. I'm French, so I needed to relocate in Montreal, Canada, and Cinesite HR helped me a lot with the formalities for the work permit and facilities (they paid my flight to Montreal, paid 3 weeks of airbnb, gave me 1500$CA in order to start my journey here, and provided a laptop and extra screens to work comfortably in remote during the pandemic) With the Covid-19 pandemic, Cinesite allowed to work in remote, hybrid or on-site. It's very flexible and appreciated. The company organized events like private film projections (for film we worked on) in theater, christmas presents for kids, team buildings etc... To conclude, for my first year in the industry ever and as a Pipeline TD was a great experience within Cinesite !
Cons
Welcome in the bureaucracy ; everything is so long to do (maybe it's like this in all big companies) The code base is not so well documented (but in progress), so if you start like me in the industry at Cinesite Montreal as a Pipeline TD, be strong, cause it's hard to handle. Don't hesitate to ask your buddy and your leads, cause everyone will be delighted to help !
