Pros
Easy to fulfill responsibilities and plenty of down time depending on the shift and volume of guests. Good job for college students, especially 2nd or 3rd shift, I did homework and essay writing during those times. If your working alone or with a good workmate can be an easygoing environment. It's been a good in between job. I have enough qualifications I was hired on the spot so if you have a good customer service background and understanding of the service industry it'll give you a leg up being hired. Job has good schedule flexibility.
Cons
Bad management and bad owners at my location. Owners only care about overhead and we have serious lack of consistency with rules and regulations due to our revolving management door. Owners only promote or hire unqualified mangers they can pay below the pay grade. This last management change saw hiring of friends of the manager, a pushing aside those of us with seniority and flat out fictitious time cards, stealing, and lying to guests. One fellow employee that was pushed out of becoming assistant manager wrote a very direct letter to Choice Hotels with no response.
