Pros
GPs are very well supported by admin staff, who will contact patients, chase hospital appointments and results. There is an in-hours visiting service.
Cons
The workload is high-there is little time or opportunity in the working day to meet with colleagues. GPS are expected to provide a lot of input/ongoing care to patients which in the past would have been undertaken by the hospital.
