Pros
After many years of Big Corporate jobs, it is refreshing to know that my feedback and my input are heard. It’s extremely empowering to be treated as an equal and someone who is knowledgeable and skilled (this sounds like a very low bar that unfortunately most employers don’t meet). Unlike many start-ups where the C-level team believes they are the smartest people in the room, the leadership team at Chargezoom actually listens to staff and takes action based on their input. This not only benefits the day-to-day business but allows for every employee to be a champion for our customers and partners and deliver on the vision for the company. Because we are given space to be experts in our domains, every business unit works together seamlessly. Because of the emphasis on culture fit, it’s effortless to work with any member of any team at any time. Because we operate smoothly, we can do more (and go faster) than a traditional corporate structure would allow. The motto here is “work hard, live well” which is supported at every level. Hard work is rewarded with excellent pay and benefits and everyone is encouraged to ‘live well’ by using the generous PTO plan to balance their work/life. We also get lots of in-office perks like a fully stocked kitchen, catered meals on Fridays, company swag, etc.
Cons
Not really a con, but a heads-up: we move quickly, which is fun but requires team members to be flexible and willing to learn new processes. Every employee is responsible for being proactive and defining their role; if you’re looking for a job that has a clearly defined task list that never changes you may not like this environment.
