Pros

One positive aspect of this position is its involvement in a niche industry. I have observed that a Manager, is acting as is dedicated to making things work, even when she is the only one demonstrating such commitment. Additionally, I appreciate the company's timely salary payments and the satisfactory condition of the kitchen and toilets at our headquarters.

Cons

1. Work-Life Balance: I must emphasize that this position lacks a suitable work-life balance. The irregular shifts and unpredictable working hours make it challenging for individuals with established routines or those who have a normal personal time. 2. Career Prospects: I am dissatisfied with the career development opportunities provided in this role. I feel that I was hired specifically for peak times and that the company intentionally creates circumstances that may lead to resignations after the peak period ends. 3. Company Culture: I have noticed a lack of proactive efforts to integrate new employees. It was only when I addressed the inappropriate behavior of some colleagues and uncovered underlying organizational issues that I started to feel acknowledged. Moreover, the absence of important policies is a significant drawback. 4. Financial Matters: It is worth noting that individuals who struggle with financial record-keeping, expense claims, and bank account administration may encounter financial losses. On several occasions, I had to use my personal funds for company-related expenses. 5. Job Requirements: The physical demands of this job can be overwhelming. The disregard for manual handling rules puts individuals at risk of developing hernias and other daily injurues . I find myself carrying around approximately 10kg, running for trains and buses, or trying to keep up with colleagues who try to demonstrate that he can work at a faster pace. 6. Transportation and Expenses: The reliance on public transportation has its challenges. Those who are not adept at navigating such systems may face difficulties and potential monetary losses. 7. Training and Processes: I have observed a lack of sufficient training, policies, records, and processes necessary for performing the job effectively. 8. Company Atmosphere: I often experience a constant sense of time pressure and a feeling of inadequacy propagated by certain colleagues. The atmosphere is marked by compromised situations, a lack of trust, superficial appearances, and unhealthy competition among team members. 9. Unrealistic Claims and Lack of Advancement Opportunities: Unrealistic claims are prevalent, and I have not come across any significant opportunities for career advancement. Additionally, there is a lack of proper tools and inadequate communication from some colleagues. 10. Miscellaneous Issues: In addition to the aforementioned concerns, I have noticed issues related to hygiene, certifications, and the absence of welcoming and integration measures. 11…. 12… the list can continue.

Pros

A friendly and flexible working environment with so much scope for career progression across the business. There is a real sense of loyalty among employees, many of whom, like myself have been with the business for over 5 years. Self-development is championed and all employees are encouraged to share thoughts & ideas to improve and grow the business.

Cons

As a small business our employees need to be pro-active, resourceful and motivated, and as such it is less suited to individuals who require a more regimented learning environment.
