Pros

If you have extremely thick skin and genuinely enjoy the aggressive nature of car sales, you may thrive here. The potential for high earnings is real in the short term

Cons

The workplace culture is toxic. Since it is a male-dominated environment, I personally experienced both misogynistic behavior and sexual harassment. Women’s concerns were consistently dismissed, which created a very unsafe and discouraging atmosphere. • Managers were often extremely unprofessional, making inappropriate sexual comments about women employees, racist remarks, and bringing politics into the workplace in ways that were highly unprofessional and uncomfortable. • Training is ineffective. New hires spend long hours staring at screens, and when moved into new roles, there’s little to no hands-on support. Managers often answered questions in a rude or passive-aggressive way. • The facilities are poorly maintained. The building has ongoing health and safety issues, including mice leaving droppings throughout the showroom and employee desks. Exterminators were brought in occasionally, but it never fully addressed the issue. • There was frequent unprofessional behavior, such as employees vaping inside the building while customers were present. • Compensation is inconsistent. Performance bonuses start strong but decrease over time even with the same sales results. • Job security is minimal. Employees with many years of service are often terminated without warning at the end of the week. • Some management practices encourage questionable sales tactics, such as telling employees to “control the customer more.”
