Pros

1. Health and Dental Insurance paid 100%, no premium 2. Amazingly awesome co-workers (well, two of them...) 3. Beautiful area to work in Madison, but you will be chained to your desk so you won't be able to enjoy it anyway.

Cons

1. Very minimal paid time off (have to work most holidays, even the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, despite negligible work activity on those days). You start with a grand total of 10 days of PTO (maybe less, I am giving the benefit of the doubt) for sick time and "vacation." 2. Little to no communication: I was the person who was communicating with candidates, yet never had more than one meeting every six months with my supervisor. My friend in accounting met with the owner weekly. We were monitored closely on Skype to make sure we were sticking to our 30-minute lunch, but the owner didn't have the time to e-mail me or meet with me regularly. 3. Lack of support & resources: When we were sent home to work remotely during the Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020, I wasn't given a separate phone or even phone number to answer calls. This didn't bother me at first, as we didn't get more than a few calls per day. By mid-April, the phone calls started coming in like a tidal wave. I was trying to field all of these calls (up to forty per day) while also doing my assigned job...on my personal cell phone!! After several meetings, I finally was able to convince them to get a work phone with it's own phone number. This was a huge relief, but then I got reprimanded for missing phone calls (there were often multiple calls coming in at once time). This means that someone was spending their time looking over my (meticulous and very detailed) phone logs instead of offering to help with what was OBVIOUSLY too much for one person. The thing that upset me the most was that the majority of the people I spoke with were never called back, even when they were a great candidate. I was held to a certain standard, but they weren't themselves. 4. No feedback: I never knew from day-to-day if I was going to get praised for talking a great candidate into submitting their resume, hear radio silence, or get scolded for something that I didn't do. No review or way to know how I was doing, what I could improve, etc. the worst part... my mental AND physical health began to suffer so I had to leave after a little over one year. This was amid extremely high levels of Covid in my community and my child returning to school virtually. Thankfully, I did find something I could do remotely but, overall, they couldn't have cared less.
