Bonuses are consistent. Benefits are fine and improving.
Cons
Can’t handle basic administrative functions at the corporate level: job descriptions, budgeting, time keeping, or cost tracking. So it’s impossible to carry out higher-level management functions like pay for performance, cost-benefit analysis of investments, and rational pay bands. Everything just has to be “whatever we spent last year plus a flat % on top.” Good performing people, low performing people, great products and crappy products - they can’t tell which is which, so they all get the same.
