Pros
Let me start by saying i am not a disgruntled employee even though i was let go (personal reasons.) So please take this to heart. I learned a lot of sales techniques that arent very common. You get a higher commission rate here than any other Verizon store, even corporate. 50% is extremely high if youre a good sales person, best money I have ever made in sales. Some people arent cut for it though. Half my money came from calling in leads from old receipts or salesforce. You need to make those calls.
Cons
You need to make those cold calls. Cold calling (i guess this is warm calling) sucks. Accessories are marked up so your commission on that is far less than 50% like they promise. If you mess something up they promise they will pay half of the mess-up; they never did that I saw while i was there, they threatened me with full msrp all the time instead of even my employee discount. As in all sales, sometimes the people that lie to customers usually get better sales. I did the opposite and did better, but would have to fix these lies other people had promised customers that not only lost sales for me, but is unethical. Id say its not addressed, but it is. Its rewarded. Of course they want you to be ethical and upsell at the same time. That was my bread and butter, because i was the most honest there. I made as much as the lying reps, even though Id take hours to fix their lies or reexplain it in an acceptable manner. Even bringing my concerns to higher ups brought scrutiny on me. I was later let go for personal reasons with my manager, i was actually number 2 for the entire state in profit at that time. It would seem the management is pressured to look the other way when certain reps lie to hit their sales goals.
