Pros
A very supportive environment - before starting they offered me many supportive hardware and software equipment e.g. anti-glare screen, MacBook Pro 2019, keyboard, mouse, professional software development platforms.
The option to work from home and/or arranged Flexi-hours makes working for Cazana an understanding adaptive environment. This was very useful as previous companies I have worked for in the past made it very difficult for me to resolve domestic issues during the working week.
The team environment helped me see the positive impacts my work had on the company. With weekly team training and catch-up sessions I could understand the company's overall goals and progress.
Normally I wouldn't pair work with social life but Cazana facilitated a wide range of team bonding activities e.g. weekly yoga, 5 aside football, games nights, and even a Christmas ski trip! Without these social events I would not have been as motivated to work with others.
Management was very friendly and supportive. They always encouraged us to invest our spare time in research to develop novel ideas and potential products which could benefit the company. Having initially spent this time developing code to automate reports, I then researched new machine learning algorithms to cluster different types of data.
The office location is very easy to get to and there are a lot of food markets to go to on your lunch break.
Cons
The slight gripe I had was the amount of workspace available in the start-up hub office. This issue was noted at the monthly company meeting and is currently being resolved as Cazana has now found a new office space to move into.
