Pros

* Using the best Web technologies such at Python, Django, Java and Rabbit MQ and others! * Top notch world class scaling and architecture challenges--strong engineering skils a must have! *Living in Portland Maine is a huge benefit for the outdoors and great access to food and culture. * Free Soda, coffee and snacks! * Great client base made up of popular well known brands--fun creative work abounded! * A great culture for self starters and people not timid by the unknown or changing requirements.

Cons

* Not a lot of comparable jobs in this area if you decide you want to move around. * During the busy times of the year there can be quite a lot of commotion and requires priority management and discipline to obtain success. * Gifting holidays require more engineering On-Call time.

Pros

Great work culture. Everyone there wants to work together to make customers succeed.

Cons

Purchase from Blackhawk brought a lot of expected changes, but most local people lost their vision and purpose.

Pros

Interning at Cashstar was amazing. They really care about making sure you get the most out of the internship and are contributing to meaningful projects. Instead of having the interns work on their own isolated project all summer, Cashstar integrated the interns into the dev teams and allowed them to work on the same projects that the full-time software engineers were working on. We also switched teams a few times throughout the summer so we got a more complete perspective on the way different teams operated and the different projects they worked on. This greatly increased my confidence going forward in the software engineering industry. All of the engineers were always willing to help out and lend advice as well. Cashstar really made the interns feel like part of the team. Keep up the good work!

Cons

The way the internship is set up, the onus is on each dev team to find tickets that are meaningful projects but aren't too involved for an intern to do. This can sometimes be a hard balance to find, especially when a team is bogged down with other work. For the most part, the teams do a good job with picking the projects and they are always open to feedback.
